BCJ-4型装药车是为地下金属矿提供现场混装乳化炸药上向、水平炮孔装药的专用车辆。与露天矿相比，地下矿由于作业空间狭小、作业环境复杂，针对不同使用环境，BCJ-4型装药车又可分为：专用铰接式、普通工程卡车式、工作臂式和厢式（无工作臂）等。与井下气动式铵油装药机相比，BCJ-4型地下装药车使用软管装填乳化炸药，装药范围更大、炸药性能更强，并且有效解决了压气返粉污染大、浪费多的问题。
